Why We're Starting a Blog
I know what you’re thinking. When you saw the word “blog,” you probably immediately thought of someone’s online diary, filled with personal, unkempt information and opinions. But, what I’m hoping you’ll quickly see is that The Preiss Company Blog will serve the specific purpose of being a convenient way to communicate with one another.
Of course, as done so in the past, we have the ability to communicate and share information via email. However, we recognize that this practice can be intimidating- maybe it’s because we are worried about spamming our coworkers with emails about topics that they may not find important, or just not knowing who and who not to include. Ultimately, the result is that the sharing of news, information, and ideas happens less and less, and people are consistently out of the loop. I think we can all agree that when something new and exciting happens in our organization, everyone should have the chance to hear about it.
Unlike other companies who may be centrally located in one place, we don’t have the ability to conveniently have face-to-face discussions, and are limited to interacting with only the people at our property or location. So, not only will this blog be a great way for the company to announce news or provide important information, but it will give you the opportunity to ask questions to your colleagues, brainstorm and pitch ideas, and seek feedback. As a result, everyone will have the chance to share insights and expertise with others across our entire portfolio. The blog platform also will allow you to refer to a previous discussion well after a post has been published, in efforts to keep the conversation flowing and alive.
Without a doubt, our employees are the most valuable asset we have. Each employee in our organization comes from different backgrounds, has different levels of experience, and possess different strengths. We, as an organization, want to hear from all of our people; our hope is by providing a platform for you all to connect and share with each other, it will help our company culture grow even stronger and bring us all closer together.
