Andrew Belter and Lane Sheer will now be heading up our new version of the Property Operations Department. Both Andrew and Lane will both move into a Co-Director of Property Operations role. While they will have unique (and distinct) responsibilities, Andrew and Lane will oversee all existing functions of our current Ops team, as well as assist with the scheduling and management of our PM Specialists and Regional Maintenance Supervisors. Their other distinct responsibilities within Property Ops will largely remain unchanged from what it is today.
Chantele Hawkins will now be moving into the Director of Property Financial Management role. This newly-designed position will allow Chantele to continue to do what she does best, plus some additional functions that should provide significant benefit to our Regional Manager team. Chantele will continue her analysis of existing revenue operations, including bad debt analysis, liaison with collections agencies, scheduled income break-outs, market rents, etc. In addition, Chantele will be PM's main liaison with the Accounting team, helping our RMs with accounting procedures, calendars, best practices, etc. Last but not least, Chantele will be providing analysis and support (including training when applicable) to the RM and PM on property financials, including assistance in the BV review process.
Please welcome Sophie McElroy to the Corporate Marketing Department! Sophie McElroy has moved from the Live on Hillsborough Portfolio to join the Corporate Marketing Team as a Corporate Marketing Specialist. Sophie will be assisting on a broad range of projects - providing creativity, strategy and general support at both the corporate and site level.
Black History Month
February marks Black History Month (BHM), an annual observance that began as a way to recognize the important people and events in the history of the African diaspora.
One way you can partake in honoring BHM without leaving your home is attending virtual events. Throughout the month of February, the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) is launching virtual events and conversations that affirm and preserve the accomplishments of African Americans throughout history. Events are free and open to all -- but registration is required.
